Russian contemporary artists are gaining more and more interest from the art collectors, as the Creative director of Art Moscow, Eric Schlosser, says: “I can take Art Paris for example: It was the first time that Russia was the main guest of an international art fair this year, with 90 Russian artists and nine Russian galleries from several cities represented.”

In this climate of great interest for the russian art, Vecchiato Art Galleries decided to collaborate with Masha Knyazeva TROTZKY, the Winner of the National Award “Best Photographer of Russia” in 2010.

Trotzky’s photographic art plays with the most famous corporations logos and brands, mixing them with the traditional aesthetics of Russian folk culture, with an eye-catching result, between pop-art and mass media manipulation, as she states: “I marry folk russian ornament with global brands and put it on a human body. It kills individuality, erotism of the naked body, makes person unrecognizable - but branded...That's the history of mass preferences".

Trotzky started exhibiting as a professional artist since 2005 and she exhibited her artworks in Russia, Italy, Greece, Germany, Austria and now will be supported in her great career also by Vecchiato Art Galleries, thanks to the experience maturated with other great names of the fine art photography like David Hamilton and Hikari Kesho, not to mention the exhibitions about pop art masters like Keith Haring and Basquiat.

In these globalized world, art has no boundaries but risks to lose her national cultural matrix:  Masha Knyazeva TROTZKY with her mix of globalization and folk culture can show a new way of artistic expression.
